Concept design for a house on a tree farm.
A conceptual design for a new residence situated on a beautiful 40 acre tree farm, capturing stunning views of Mt Hood. Given the sites vast “outdoor room” like quality, the goal is to create a home with a simple, roof dominate form, providing a sheltering yet commanding presence onsite. The glazed in entry and covered outdoor court separate the living spaces from the more private spaces of the house.
Client Testimonial:
“We were referred to Steve by a dear friend we have in common when we were thinking of building a home on our farm. Of all the architects we considered, his background and design sensibilities matched ours the best, especially his work in Alaska in more natural (not urban) settings since our farm is about 30 miles east of Portland in a very wooded area. Steve's personality was instantly a good fit for us. He's chill, creative, thoughtful, and a great listener. He visited our farm and spent a lot of time just taking in the space and the views as well as getting to know us and what we wanted and how we live our lives. We can't recommend him enough.”
