Carport Sitka, Alaska

Our client wanted a carport to shelter up to four vehicles. The design was born out of the simple need to enter and exit the structure while in a vehicle easily and to avoid door/column conflicts that occur too often in parking structures. From these needs a cantilevered column and beam structure was developed. The steel columns and beams will be fabricated and galvanized in the Seattle area and then shipped to Sitka for the speed and ease of erection. The wood decking and beams will be sourced from a local Alaskan saw mill. The underside of roof structure will be up-lit to cast a warm and inviting glow.
